I haven’t been able to do this yet but I would like to make a
crochet afghan for all the different holidays and season. Besides making a
wreath for this, too.
St Patrick's Day Granny Square Crochet Pattern
Materials: yarn in cream and green; Hook 4.5mm or size
needed to obtain a 6 inch square
Abbreviations: ch, chain; rnd, round; dc, double
crochet; sc, single crochet(s); hdc, half double crochet; sl st(s), slip
stitch(es); lp(s), loop(s); sp(s), space(s); rem, remaining; rep, repeat; yo,
yarn over; st(s), stitch(es).
Instructions:
ch1, ch3 instead of sc or dc at the beginning of each round.
With green yarn, ch2, 5sc in second ch from hook. sl st to
join.
Using BACK LOOPS ONLY, Work 2sc in each st around. sl st to
join. 12sts
Finish off green
Join cream yarn with sl st to any stitch. 2dc in each st
around. sl st to join. 24sts
3dc in first st, ch1, sk2 st, (3dc ch1 3dc) Corner Made, *ch1,
sk2 st, 3dc, ch1, sk 2 st, (3dc ch1 3dc )*. Repeat from * to * 2 more times, sl
st to join
sl st to first ch1 sp.
3dc in same sp, *ch1, 3dc ch1 3dc in corner sp, (ch1, 3dc) in
next 2 spaces.
Repeat from * to * 3 more times. ch1, sl st to join
sl st to first sp.
3dc in same sp, *ch1, 3dc ch1 3dc in corner sp, (ch1, 3dc) in
next 3 spaces.
Repeat from * to * 3 more times. ch1, sl st to join
Finish off cream.
Join green in any st and sc in each st around, working 3 sc in
each corner. sl st to join.
Finish off green.
Shamrock
Re-Join green, with sl st, to a free front loop in Rnd 1.
There should be 6.
Pick a loop that is in-line with one of the blocks of 3dc (not
in-line with a corner)
(sc, 2hdc, 2dc, 2hdc, sc, sl st) in same loop
(sl st, sc, 2hdc, 2dc, 2hdc, sc, sl st) in next two loops
sk next loop
sl st in the next loop
ch5, sc in 2nd from hook and in next 3. sl st in base of stem.
sk next loop and sl st in sl st of first leaf. Finish off.
It depends on the size you want on how many squares yo will
need to make. For example throw, twin,
full, queen, or king.
