Additional ideas for your PET!!

Just trying to get a quick blog out before I go into the hospital for another heart surgery early this morning.

I have been working on a cat toy.  I had gotten bulky yarn for Christmas from my oldest son. Besides getting some from one of the yarn bombs.  Here is the first one they way the pattern stated to do.

The other ones I did I slip stitch across the back and did 3 chains and pull the chain through the center whole and then took the chain and continued making them until I got 76. I pulled the yarn through so I could use it and do the single crochets.  When finish I end off but left a 3 inch yarn piece and weave the 3 inch on the back.  Finished.

Here the directions for the cat toy.  They state scary spider but Scott and I think more of octopus toy.
Use L hook.  Ch 4
Rnd 1 (right side): 15 dc in the 4th ch from hook 3 ch count as one dc. (16 dc) Join with sl st in the 4th ch.
Rnd 2 *ch 16, hdc in 2nd ch and in each rem ; skip next dc on rnd1, sc in next dc; rep from * 7 times more (8 legs mad, join base of leg with sl st or proceed like I did to do a continuous cord.

Cord: Leaving an 8"  yarn end; ch 75.
Row 1 Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each rem ch; 74sc.  Finish off, leaving 6" yarn.  Weave end back through center. Tie a knot at the end of cord.
(At this point I again change it when I did the cord and weave it through the center and weave each side with sl st then I did knot and weave some mote than tie another knot.)

Update on health and crocheting chemo hats

Sorry, I have not been blogging or twittering.  I still am having extreme amount of rib pain and some pain is displaced into the right breast.  Per the doctor the ribs have different nerves and will react to different areas depending on which rib was affected.  He said it will take 6 weeks to heal.  Unfortunately, with being a diabetic and previous health issues it can take longer.  I cannot crochet or do any crafts with the pain I am in.

Before the surgeries I make some chemo hats for the cancer center at my oncologist office and they we extremely happy; because, they ran out of the hats I had given them in December.

Here are some examples of ones with new designs.

The nurses really like these designs.

I will update when I can.  Hopefully, I will be able to do some more typing to post blogs soon.

Scott goes back to college tomorrow.
