Chemo Hats and Walker Caddy Donations

This week I will be bringing the Chemo hats that I did and some walker caddies to Medical City Dallas, Texas Oncology infusion room.  I just have to get blood drawn this week.  Next week will get blood and office visit.

Mrs. Foamy was very happy to demonstrate the hats this time; she missed demonstrating.  Since I have been making the walker caddies I only got three hats done.  See below:

Summer Crafts for kids

It always fun to make things out of pipe cleaners; besides, making animals in my opinion.

Flutter Bye Puppet

Materials:  Knit glove, Cardboard, Circle dot stickers, Pipe cleaners, Glue, Staples, and Stapler

Directions:
Cut the finger off a knit glove.
Cut out a simple set of cardboard wings.
Affix circle dot stickers in a contrasting color.
Staple 2 pipe-cleaner antennae onto the top center of the wings.
Glue on the glove finger body onto the wings.
Draw on a simple face.

Heart-Shaped Animal Masks

Materials:  Poster board, Scissors, Glue, and Tongue depressor or paint stirrer

Directions:
Use a sheet of poster board, cut out two heart shapes large enough to cover a child's face. To make sure they're the same size, use the first cut-out as a guide to trace the second cut-out. Next, cut eye holes in each, making sure the holes line up when you press the two pieces together.
Glue the two pieces together, sandwiching a tongue depressor or paint stirrer between them.
Using this basic shape, add elements to make various animal masks. To make a dog mask, for example, trace your child's shoes and cut them out to make floppy ears. A small heart makes the nose, a spot goes around the eye and a tongue completes the look.
Don't forget to inscribe an endearment on the opposite side.

Pipe Cleaner Crafts: Peppy People

Materials:  4 yellow pipe cleaners, Googly eyes, Pencil, Fingernail clippers, and Glue

Directions:
Make a V with a pipe cleaner and twist a small loop at the top.

Make a V with a pipe cleaner and twist a small loop at the top.

Twist together the two ends a few times to make the torso.
Coil another pipe cleaner around a pencil.

Slide the coil onto the torso.

Clip a pipe cleaner in half and slide one half through the loop.

Bundle a pipe cleaner around a pencil and stick it on the loop to make a head.
Make loops at the ends of the arms and legs for hands and feet.
Glue on googly eyes and pipe cleaner accessories: hair (a C-shaped snippet of brown), a necktie (looped from red) and briefcase (a length of brown bent back and forth).
