“Granny Squares: over 25 Creative Ways to Crochet the Classic Patterns” book review

Hi! Crafters!

This book is for adults and gives examples of different types of granny squares.  I learn the basic granny square and did not know for years there were different kinds of granny square and last year I found out about how you can crochet on top of a granny square. In a later blog I will show that technique with making a ribbon for different kinds of cancer and disease.

The title of the book is “Granny squares: over 25 Creative Ways to Crochet the Classic Pattern” by Stephanie Gohr, Melanie Strum and Barbara Wilder publisher is Trafalgar Square Book in 2011 in Germany the reprint in 2012 in the United States.

From pages 4 through 19 the main focus was on the 25 granny squares and how to make them. Page 21 discusses “Timeless Projects with Granny Square”. From pages 22 to 72 different projects are discussed. Beginning on page 74 Technical Information is introduced and on page 78 yarn suppliers. On pages 79 the authors are discussed.

This book is not for beginners; because, the individual has to be able to do the different stitches first. This makes me want to find the old blog series I did with picture on how to crochet the basic stitches.

Share your ideas on this or anything here on the blog either here or e-mail me at sandi_tipple@yahoo.com.  I look forward to hearing from you!
