Health UPDATE!

Since yesterday everyone was busy I did post this but here is my news. It is sadly yet happy!

Five years ago nine doctors surround my hospital bed and They told my husband and I that I had cancer. They told us that I did not have the blood markers; but, the fluid in my stomach and lungs which they drained was a match and I had Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, stage 4that I was terminal.

The happy news is I have one tumor left and it is shrinking. Next week they will get me the IVIG so keep my blood count up and help me fight this tumor which is an odd shape which look like it is going away.

The sad news and happy news is we still need help us and to celebrate my 5 years. I am asking my 165 friend and family on Facebook and my husband’s 811 Facebook family and friends to donate at least $5.00 to my Go Fund Me Account to celebrate that I am still alive. I know there is 61 Mutual family and friends so I know there is an overlap, I do not expect you to give more only if you can, especially during this holiday season. I also know they take a percentage of the donation; but, every dollar helps. We really appreciate the help in paying the doctor the last installment of $265.00 for 2016. We will see what next year’s installment will be; because, it will be what we didn’t pay off for 2015 and 2016; since we are a year behind,

Extremely great news:

I am looking forward to celebrating my youngest son, Scott Tipple, Graduate from college in mid-December. He knows with both our health situation we could sit through the celebration. So, his only request is a graduation ring and frame for his diploma. He knows the doctor bill

This morning Sandi was scheduled to have blood work and a doctor visit. It was a total cluster you know what today. Staff shortages coupled with equipment on the fritz meant they were running over an hour behind. Then, because her blood pressure was significantly elevated they made us stay an extra 30 minutes after we were done to see if it would come down. It was a four hour tour and there was no boat, no radio, and certainly no Ginger....

MRI shows the tumor has shrunk and is losing its definition which means the edges are dissolving. It also shows significant scar tissue in the area from the radiation as well as a very large area extending outside the radiation area that is swollen and inflamed. The belief is that the severe pain she is feeling is from that as well as the nerves in the area that are regenerating. If the pain remains severe they will have her on some sort of steroid regimen to help things.

While her red blood cell count remains stable, her white blood cell count has slipped significantly again so she starts IVIG infusions again on the 30th. It would have been next Wednesday, but they decided to back it up a week and not force her in. It is not surprising that they have to do this, but it is an indication that her blood work is no longer stable.

Important Health Update!

I am not sure how many individuals know that I been in the hospital; but, I had to spend two weeks in the hospital.  The infection that was causing my leg to swell 4 times its size was not an infection at all. 

Some may know I spent 2 ½ month in Jacksonville, FL in 2013 to get a stem cell transplant.  Other situations happened because of the transplant. I had a blood clot in the neck and got Pneumonitis; so, I have been on oxygen since them. 

I never discussed it but in the back of my mind I worried about using my own stem cells. The doctors states that Chemotherapy would take care of that situation. Since I had more than one type of Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma why are they using my own?

Well, to get to the point; the Lymph nodes in my stomach have Large B-cell Cancer and was pushing on the arteries in my leg which was cutting off the blood to flow. So the Cancer is back and only because I was hospitalized the insurance (AETNA) approved a PET Scan which we been asking for a year and half shows the cancer in the lymph nodes  chest and in the nodes in stomach have cancer.  Hey did chemotherapy in the hospital and the leg made a massive improvement; so, I was able to go home. 

So, starting on Tuesday February 24^th, this will be my schedule Lab, Office visit, Chemo for 6 hours. On Wednesday chemo for 8 hours and then Friday Lab and shot. Plan will be to do this for two weeks a week off for 3 months and do another PET to see if it worked.

Post a blog will be difficult with vision problems etc.; but,  will try to set up things ahead of time.

45 Chemo hats finished for Texas Oncology

There are 14 whimsical, 17 shell, and 14 1959 style hats; which, I will deliver Friday January 9th.  I did three other hats that I gave to family member and two other friends; so, I almost made my goal for doing 50 hats total. So 2 short not bad.
