Motor skills are very important from birth forward. So here are some more ideas. The first one
looks like real fun to me and I always have a lot of Ivory soap around.
Snow Easy
Sculpting Clay
Materials:
3
bars of Ivory soap, 4 rolls of toilet paper, Warm water
Directions:
Grate the soap into a large bowl
Rip the toilet paper into little pieces and place in large
bowl.
Slowly pour enough water to get the paper wet but not too much
that it’s soaked. It is now time to add
the soap to the paper and knead it.
Remember: Add a little more water, until it makes a
nice doughy consistency. If it’s too
wet, you will need to add more paper.
Options: Make polar
bears, snowball, and snowman with the mixture!!
Homemade
Moon Sand Recipe
This is
kind of like making Kool-Aid Play dough!!!
Materials:
Corn
starch, shaving cream (not gel), and food coloring (optional).
Directions:
Squirt a whole bunch (several cups??) of shaving cream into a
mixing bowl. Add several drops of food
coloring.
And then mix, mix, mix.
After the color is completely incorporated, start adding corn
starch. Start with about a 1/2 cup at
first.
Mix with their spoons to get it started.
Just keep adding corn starch and mooch and mash until they
incorporate. The mixture forms into a
ball.
Do this process for all the colors the kids want to use!
Share your ideas on this or anything here on the blog either
here or e-mail me at stipple@verizon.net. I look forward to hearing from you!
